Becca x Chrissy Teigen VS Becca x Jaclyn Hill- Do you need both?

www.christinas-events.comDo you own the Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette? Are you considering getting the Becca x Chrissy Teigen palette but worried they’re too similar? I give a review and have swatches below.  Spoiler alert- they’re not that similar in my opinion.

The Becca x Jaclyn Hill Palette is on the left and is no longer being sold, it was $52 for 0.72 oz.  This palette was all about gold decadence.  The palette includes two highlighters and three blushes, with the highlighters being the focal point of the palette at 0.19 oz. of product each.   The two mineral blushes each contain 0.12 oz. and the Luminous blush contains 0.10 oz.  The palette has a total value of $106.16, which is amazing.  The shade names in the Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette are: Champagne Pop (a warm, peachy-orange gold highlight), Prosecco Pop (a light-medium gold highlighter with warm, yellow undertones), Rose Spritz (a bright pop of warmer pink, more of a sheer blush topper- no longer being sold),  Amaretto (a slightly muted, medium-dark rosy brown with warm undertones, really great as a blush bronzer combo-sold in a split pan now), Pamplemousse (a bright pop of medium-dark pink with warm undertones, this is definitely a bold blush– sold in a split pan now).

The Becca x Chrissy Teigen palette is on the left.  It is still current being sold here for $46 for 0.53 oz.   The two highlights are both 0.18 oz of product and the blush and bronzer are both 0.085 oz of product.  The Becca X Chrissy Teigen  palette delivers a super on-trend peach/ rose gold glow.  It includes two highlighters, a blush, and a bronzer.   One of the four products is from the permanent line (Rose Gold), while the other three are exclusive to the palette.   The total value of the palette is $75.54.  The shades in the palette are: Rose Gold  (a medium copper highlighter with warm, reddish undertones), Hibiscus Bloom (a bright, medium pink blush with subtle, warm undertones), Malibu Soleil (a medium-dark brown bronzer with warm, golden undertones),  Beach Nectar (a soft, peachy coral highlight with warm undertones).

Both items have limited edition status, and the Jaclyn Hill option is completely sold out and no longer available as a set.  However, almost all of the shades can be bought individually and I linked them above (just click on the shade names).

When I first saw the Chrissy Teigen palette, I didn’t think I would be purchasing it.  I really thought it would be too similar to the Jaclyn one and I just didn’t see the point in purchasing an expensive dupe.  However, I have to say that they’re not really similar at all.  Above are some swatch and shade comparisons, the Jaclyn palette swatches are near my wrist and the Chrissy Teigen swatches are closer to my elbow.  As you can see, the Chrissy Teigen palette is much more pink/ rose gold toned and the Jaclyn palette highlights are more pale/ yellow toned.  Considering my pale complexion, I see myself using the Jaclyn palette much more than I would be using the Chrissy Teigen palette.

Above are the most similar colors from the two palettes.  The Chrissy Teigen palette swatch is on top for both colors and Jaclyn’s on the bottom.  As they are similar, the Chrissy Teigen hot pink blush color is a much more sheer wash of color than Jaclyn’s, while the bronzer in the Chrissy palette is much darker than the Jaclyn palette bronzer.

What do you think about the palettes? Do you have one/ both/ none? 💗
