I really love watching tutorials on YouTube. I’m subscribed to so many different Beauty Influencers channels, but my favorites definitely are: Desi Perkins, LustreLux, Laura Lee, Stephanie Nicole, Stephanie Lang, Makeup.Just.For.Fun, and Jaclyn Hill.
I’m not sure about you, but when I hear multiple beauty “gurus” talk about these products and rave about how this foundation changed their life, I need it. Basically in my mind, this new $50 foundation will help me land a new job, ace a test, and look like a super model. None of these things have ever actually happened…. I actually probably look worse because I’m stressed about the fact that I just paid $50 for a foundation!!!! As, I’ve gotten more and more into luxury brands and a little farther away from the drug store favorites, the sticker price doesn’t scare me like it used to… but I’m going to be honest… I’m CHEAP! Haha, so I wanted to give you a quick run down of three things that I bought because they were recommended on YouTube and actually LOVE.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder – This powder is my RIDE OR DIE. I tried switching so many times and nothing compares in my opinion. This powder helps keep my set all day without having to blot. It’s truly translucent and doesn’t accentuate the lines that I’m starting to now get since I turned 30 years old. While the price may seem high, you probably only need to purchase one or two of these baby’s a year. They also sell sample sizes if you don’t want to commit to the full size.
Hoola bronzer- Hoola bronzer has been one of my favorite bronzers since I was 19 and lining my eyes like a raccoon (trying to look like Avril Lavigne). Whatever, it was the style back then. For some reason that I don’t remember, I got away from it and started using other bronzers. I was watching a few YouTube videos about a year ago and they kept talking about the Hoola bronzer and it made me remember how much I loved it. SO, I immediately went online to buy it and I’ve repurchased it again in the cheek parade palette (below).
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette- This palette has been talked about by everyone and their mom, so I doubt there’s much I can say that’s new and will make you have some revelation that you need it. Basically, I LOVE the ABH formula and I love the warm toned shades. I have so many eyeshadow palettes, really too many (I’m waiting for the show hoarders to show up and to take them all from me), but this one will always be a favorite.
What have you purchased because of your favorite YouTube guru? Let me know down below….
