I’m always looking for the new “best” setting powder and foundation. If your base doesn’t look good, your face can’t look good. In fact, a good setting powder is one of the most important steps in ensuring your makeup looks great all day. A setting powder can do amazing things for makeup including: blurring imperfections, color correcting problem areas, mattifying makeup, and even locking your makeup into place for additional staying power throughout the day. I was so excited when Huda Beauty announced their newest upcoming product Easy Bake, and even more excited when they sent me their newest collection.
WHAT IS BAKING?:
If you’re not a makeup junkie, you might be a little surprised by the name of the product and the fact that all of the powder shades are named after a dessert that is baked. Baking is a technique used to help keep your face matte, and prevent your makeup from creasing, such as under your eyes, around your mouth, and forehead! It can also help contour your face to give you that chiseled look god didn’t bless most of us with! If you’re still a basic baker, Huda Beauty explains how to bake like a pro here.
Huda Beauty put so much time and effort into the packaging of this product, that I would be amiss to not mention some of it. Not only are all the shades named after a dessert that is baked, to add to the appeal, the Easy Bake setting powders come in an actual cake box. Huda stated on her snap chat that the Easy Bake boxes are all hand folded to get the shape of a cake box. For those who have used any type of loose setting powder, you know how messy it can get, this powder was designed with a unique netting that minimizes this problem and helps to save product.
The only packaging “issue” that I experienced, was when I took off the original protector I got a little powder on myself. So, be careful when removing the black plastic seal prior to using your powder for the first time.
Now on to the actual product review for the new Easy Bake Loose Powder.
The Easy Bake powder is incredible. It’s really easy to use and helped to make my foundation look airbrushed.
I compared it on my face throughout the day to another favorite powder on my Instagram (@u.glow.girl) stories. A majority of the voters like the Huda powder more. Some of the comments that I received while wearing the powder, were that the Huda Beauty Easy Bake powder looked more airbrushed. They also mentioned that the Easy Bake blurred my pores. The powder lasted for about 6 hours before shine broke through. Typically, setting powder only lasts about 5 hours on my oily/ combination skin before I need to blot.
There are eight shades of easy bake. YES 8 DIFFERENT SHADES!!! This means there is a shade for everyone. Please see below for my swatches of each color.
The shades are called
- Sugar Cookie
- Pound cake
- Cinnamon bun
- Banana bread
- Coffee cake
This formula contains vitamin E, and is noncomedogenic. When reviewing the ingredient list provided on Sephora.com, I did not see any pore clogging ingredients.
The powders launch on July 2nd online and July 20th in store.
What shade would you purchase?
