Huda Beauty Is Coming Out With Demi Matte Lipsticks on July 29
It has been two years since Huda Beauty has released a new lipstick formula. I was so excited and ready to try her brand new Demi Matte lipstick formula out when it arrive at my house a couple of nights ago. It seems like slowly but surely, the makeup community is moving away from Matte lipsticks. Matte lips don’t necessarily look great on everyone (they can make lips look chapped). They also are really uncomfortable.
Huda Beauty already has a solid makeup reputation. I’ve reviewed plenty of her products on this blog before:
Huda Beauty is known for their inclusive foundation range, palettes that continually sell out, and trendy new launches like its Easy Bake Loose Setting Powders, which dropped earlier this month. And most recently announcing the new Huda Beauty Demi Matte lip products that will be available July 29.
Demi Matte Review
On Huda’s most recent blog post, she mentioned wanting to create something super creamy, comfortable to wear, and highly-pigmented. And of course, her goal with the new formula was to also keep lips hydrated all day and still be bold and sexy. The new Huda Beauty Demi Matte has the perfect balance between a matte and shine finish. The best way to describe it would be a gloss-meets-matte lipstick hybrid.
I was very pleasantly suprised when I first put on the Demi Matte and noticed a slight tingle. The new formula has a hint of menthol, which gives a temporary plumping, cooling and tingling sensation. One swipe is all you need because the formula is super intense!
Demi Matte Cream Lipstick comes in 15 shades. Fortunately, I was able to swatch all 15 shades. They’re all beautiful, but I’d have to say my two favorites are Day Slayer and Feminist.
How I wear Demi Matte:
Before writing this post, I went to Huda’s blog post to review how to best apply the new Demi Matte. Funny enough, I actually applied it the exact same way. I agree with Huda’s favorite combination below. I love how the Demi Matte looks when it’s blotted with a tissue (just blot lightly to make sure you don’t lose all of the color).
For the perfect application, I start by lining my lips with our Huda Beauty Lip Contour pencil, fading it towards the center of the lip. Next, I apply Demi matte, concentrating the pigment at the center of my lips – one dip is enough for both lips, and you can rub your lips together to spread the product evenly. For a really pretty stained effect, I like to blot my lips with a tissue afterward. Huda Kattan’s favorite combo is our Lip Contour pencil in Bombshell and our pinky nude shade, Day Slayer.
Here’s what it looks like on my fair skin tone.
You can purchase the Demi Matte Cream Lipsticks for yourself come July 29 (aka National Lipstick Day) at shophudabeauty.com and Sephora for $20 each.
